To all: As many of you are aware, there is currently a strike by musicians that has caused the shutdown of many Broadway shows, including all but one musical (“Cabaret”, which is unaffected by this strike). Since it looks like this strike will be a considerable one coupled with a looming strike next year by Broadway actors, this possibly brings in a new candidate to replace either Elisabeth Rohm on “Law & Order” or Stephanie March on “Special Victims Unit” as the Assistant District Attorney that I would not have thought of otherwise. Her name is Sutton Foster, who for the past two years I believe has been the lead in the Broadway musical “Thoroughly Modern Millie”, a stage version of the 1967 film that she won a Tony Award for if I remember correctly last year. Anyone like her who could be trusted with the lead in a $10 million musical like that I think has to be a serious candidate if Dick Wolf is familiar with her work on Broadway, which he should considering how many Broadway actors have appeared in the “L & O franchise” over the years. She’s I believe 28, and would be exactly the kind of “newcomer” (in this case to the small screen) that probably would excel in the role of the ADA, and also has the looks that would keep a lot of male viewers (who do care about “eye candy”) happy.
