At the end of the show, one of my friend's proclaimed that it was the best
rock n roll concert she'd ever attended. But, rather than laughing at that
claim, a few of the other people I was with agreed.
Neil Young has taken rock n roll to the next level! Nothing like Greendale
has ever been presented before...
Rock opera? Not exactly. More like a "theatrical rock concert" or a
Broadway play with music by Neil Young and Crazy Horse.
There were probably 40 actors, and some numbers were even choreographed.
And, the story was easy to follow, even if you'd never heard the songs
before. There were stage sets, animated backdrops, and props...just like
in a play you'd see in a theater.
Wow. If Greendale comes your way, go catch it! This is something you have
to see. Totally unique, innovative, artistic.
I think Greendale is going to be in LA this week. Whatever it takes to get
there, do it. And, as an incentive....last night on the way in at Concord,
I saw plenty of people picking up $10 extras in the lot...
