There is information on the net indicating that the program was adapted from the broadway play "What A Life". It was first heard on radio as a sketch on the Rudy Vallee show and later a regular feature on the Kate Smith show. Key family members were Henry Aldrich, His father Sam Aldrich, His moother Alice Aldrich, and his sister Mary Aldrich. Dick
