Through a Glass Darkly, Ticket politics?

Do you think it would be ethical to offer to donate xxx-amount to COB's favorite charity (non-political and non-vivisection supporting, of course) for tickets to his anniversary show? It may weed out the "true fans" from the scalpers and eBay a'holes? I'm so used to paying over a hundred a ticket for a Broadway show, hell, I'll pay $10 to help ConeyO celebrate :) I sent $25 to the American Heart Association in honor of Dave Letterman's successful heart by-pass surg, my tax stub still can't get me into his show! That was how long ago???? I'm in NYc twice a year, you'd think....? I just wonder, do the network suits not care about the fans? In fact, the most likely you're a fan, the less chance you'll get a ticket? Afterall, free tickets means advertising, and they'd certainly be wasted on US ! Makes you wonder what price the hardcore fans, for either of these gentlemen, are paying by not getting in. We all don't live in N'Yok :) But most of us will spend hundreds in travel and hotel for the chance to see something special. Thanks for letting me vent, but just maybe if we make enough noise, Team Conan would block a group of seats for us? ~ Banging your head against the wall uses 150 calories an hour ~
