9th July 1857 Jury at High Court in Edinburgh returns Not Proven
verdict.
12th April 1928 Madeleine dies in New York, aged 93.
4th July 1997 The Scotsman, 140 years after the trial, publishes the
findings of new research by the writers of A Most Curious Murder –
"Evidence shows one of Scotland's most hated women was framed by her
lover"
9th August 2003 World Premiere of "A Most Curious Murder – The
