Following on from the hugely successful production of Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat, Whitehorse Musical Theatre Inc presents the Richard
Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein II classic, The Sound of Music, at the Besen
Performing Arts Centre, Mount Scopus College, 87-89 Station Street, Burwood.
Whitehorse Musical Theatre Inc. is one of Melbourne's premier amateur
musical theatre companies, and this show promises to be one of the best. It
is definitely a performance not to be missed.
Whitehorse Musical Theatre is also proud to welcome back the superb
production team of Andrew Johnson, Erin McMahon and Kellie Ryan who directed
Whitehorse's highly acclaimed production of Fiddler on the Roof in May 2001.
The Sound of Music needs no introduction and is one of the most popular
musicals of all time. Filled with some of the all time favourite music ever
performed, including Do Re Mi, Climb Every Mountain, My Favourite Things,
Edelweiss and The Sound of Music, the show is a wonderful family classic
adored by everyone.
The stage show won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book and
Best Score, and it is appropriate during the Celebration of the Richard
Rogers Centennial, that Whitehorse Musical Theatre Inc present this musical
theatre triumph.
If you see just one show this year, you can't miss The Sound of Music.
There will be 12 performances from the 16th - 31st May, 2003, including
Sunday matinee performances on the 18th and 25th May.
Evening performances commence at 7.30 pm and matinees 2.00 pm.
