first musical

Hello All,
My school district is starting a music theater program next year and has
committed a good deal of money to this undertaking. It is my job to pick the
musical that we are going to do and I am having trouble. We have a large
number of studnts that will audition include many good men. I would like to
pick a first musical that has a large, ensemble cast. I sort of planned to do
"Shenandoah" and have a perfect cast for it but the problem is that I don't
think I co uld incorporate enough students and for this first year I would like
to include almost everyone. Does anyone on this group have a good suggestion
for a first musical? Any advice would be very helpful..
