Thanks Meth! Isn't grand that we can actually have so much Happy talk
here again on Ecto? I am so happy that she is playing out again and that
she has new material coming out.
One of the new songs that Happy did at EFW was a poignant and
bittersweet song entitled "The Lucky One" (I believe that is the correct
title). It was very beautiful musically and melodically ala Tivoli. The
lyrics are about how her life went in a different direction than most
women. It describes how she kind of longed for the wedding dress, the
house with the picket fence, etc. like some of her friends, "the lucky
ones". The lyric said something about that she would never be one of the
"lucky ones".
Was that perhaps one of the new songs that she performed?

I recognized a couple of the new songs from EctoFestWest. Unfortunately
I
was in such a haze that most of the show is a total blur in what remains

my memory, so I can't say much about the new material save that I liked
it
a lot. :} I'll probably be able to be more coherent about the new
songs

There wasn't a whole lot, surprisingly. I think she was just focusing
on
the music this time around, getting her sea legs back again. She did
make
fun of woj for sitting in the back drinking a beer (all hail Chris
Montville's homebrew <g>). But then she always has to make fun of woj
for
*something*. She said something -- I think it was in talking about one
of
the new songs -- about how she's driven to do music no matter what.
(This
was similar to other things she's said on stage in the past, about how
important music is to her life, and how she can't live without it in her
life.)

Hah! I have no idea if she ate anything, and I can't remember what
shoes
she was wearing, but I do vaguely recall they were black. Sorry. Maybe
