I like it too... particularly now that Stevie takes over lead vocals on Christine's verse. I have wanted Stevie to have a more significant role in that song for years. Her lyrical variations give the song a bit of a different punch. > 'Destiny Rules', however, should not have been cut - this was one of highlights of the >tour, for me. I completely agree with you about "Destiny Rules," though I'd have preferred a full band treatment instead of the additionally stripped down version they played live. I'd also like to have Lindsey use the same guitar he used for the studio version. The one he uses live makes it sound a bit tinnier IMO. > "Beautiful Child' was one Stevie's strongest, vocally - another highlight of the show. It's great to hear "Beautiful Child" but it seems that the casual fans didn't take to the song that well. I'm afraid it's going to get dropped. > 'Rhiannon' is one I would probably say at first I'd like to see cut from the set list, but it > worked much better this time 'round than in the past two decades. For that, I'm happy to > see it stay. To me, it's just Stevie going through the motions. I'd like to see it dropped from the set. > 'Gypsy' should not be the set - there's very little reason for it to be. The song drags. I didn't think I'd agree with you that my all time favorite song by ANYBODY should be dropped, but I think it should be. > Being that 'Gold Dust Woman' was not a single, it really doesn't need to be there either. Like that matters? Where is your sense Brian? It's one of those songs that even the non-fans recognize and it seems to have become more intense as the tour goes on. For that reason, it should stay. > I can see the reason for 'Dreams', 'Landslide' and even 'Stand Back' still > being in the set, though I personally wouldn't miss any of them if they were > gone. "Dreams" for me was one of those "do we HAVE to" songs. "Landslide" too, but "Stand Back" seems to have drawn more of the Stevie solo energy and it REALLY stoked the crowd up at the MCI Center, almost more than any other song. Although if I had a choice between "Stand Back" and "Fall From Grace" as the Stevie solo song I'd like to hear Fleetwood Mac do, I'd prefer "Fall From Grace." I think the guitar-oriented theme works a lot better than the keyboard-oriented "Stand Back" since there's only one keyboard player this time around... and he's only doing keys part time. > What I would've liked is more stuff from the new album - why not 'Everybody > Finds Out', 'Miranda', 'Steal Your Heart Away' and 'Thrown Down'? I think it's RIDICULOUS that "Thrown Down" isn't in there. I'm not enthralled with "Steal Your Heart Away" at all, so I don't care that it's not in there. "Miranda" is growing on me and I love "Everybody Finds Out" dearly, but there are some studio effects that would be too hard to recreate (particularly with Stevie's vocals) for EFO to work. > 'Smile At You', 'Red Rover' and 'Murrow' would've been great challenges...I think all > could work live, but might not hold up thru-out the tour...although we'll never know. UGH on "Red Rover" and I'm only now starting to like "Murrow" but I still think the song is too damn experimental. "Smile At You" would ultimately be half-assed live. I'm only now starting to love the song as it's presented on Say You Will. I still miss the legendary "pissed off" version. > Why not put 'Twisted' in there and do some old Buckingham Nicks tunes...and even > 'Sorcerer', since it was originally a BN tune, and symbolic for both Stevie & Lindsey's > longevity. Would never happen in a million years, and you know it. > Didn't Stevie throw in an outtake and a cover to kick off her solo tour? Her FIRST solo tour. Now all that's left of Stevie's derring do from her White Winged Dove tour days is that cover. It's STILL ten times better than Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' original version of the song. I'd like to see "Dreams" "Gypsy" "Rhiannon" "Landslide" "Come" and "Say Goodbye" hit the road. I'd like to see "Destiny Rules" added back and I'd like to see "Everybody Finds Out" join the set list (with a percussion breaking in at the end of "she's done it a thousand times" and just before "when love starts out in the darkness" in the first part of the song). I'd also like to see an angry version of "Smile At You" in there somewhere. Add "Fall From Grace" in the mix as well and drop "Stand Back". Yes, you read me right. I, Mike Sarzo, hereby suggest that Fleetwood Mac drop "Stand Back."
