When I first started writing songs (as a 13 year old) I had no fear of any subject. Nowadays I'm more cautious. It's easy for a song to turn into a preaching song, especially if you've never experienced something first hand. Blowing planes up is very naughty People who do it should be sent to bed early I personally wouldn't write a song about Rape, Plane Crashes, Suicide, child abuse or many other things unless I had first hand experience. (How could I know what it feels like to be sat on a plane knowing it was going to crash? Even worse, could I sing my song to someone who's experienced them without cringing?!) I've got around this in the past by writing about my reactions to something. I wrote a song about domestic abuse by basing it on me hearing it going on next door, and being too much of a coward to do anything about it. Just my opinion Dylan
