Okay, I'm sorry to tell you, but you're really full of shit. First of all, I'm not a Christian, follow no religion, and don't believe in any "higher power." But I'm intelligent enough to know that the philosophy of Jesus Christ is not at all represented by your trite characterizations. I believe you're confusing the views of right-wing, fundamentalist assholes with the views Christianity was founded on. I'll admit, I've read very little of the Bible, but your generalizations sound much more like bad interpretation, not bad philosophy (I'm using this word to refer to Christian doctrine). I really don't think you'd talk so much shit if you sat down and read the Bible from a more detached point of view. Don't think of it as the BIBLE, think of it as a book, and read it like one. Or don't, I'm sure you'd get absolutely nothing out of it anyway. But this really isn't even my point. What I really take issue with is your "universal truths." What exactly makes your personal beliefs and convictions personal truth? Is it the fact that you listen to Tool and regurgitate every lyric and comment made by the band. If you're going to shit on the beliefs of others because they follow something they think sounds right for them, do you not see the irony of quoting Tool lyrics rather than saying exactly what you think, which MUST be different from everyone else, because that's how YOU interpret the music of Tool. Basically, you condemn them for believing in Christian doctrine because it didn't originate with them when your own beliefs, as you have stated them, are merely you following the "universal truth" As you recieved it from Tool. Goddamn I love irony. So, next time you want to take an ignorant stab at the beliefs of others, examine your own first. I know many Christians who lead wonderful lives, and are moral, intelligent, and loving. Don't let the stereotypes fool you, Christians are just people that think and feel, just like you. Well, some probably more than you. By the way, if your post was actually aimed only at the assholes that get their faces in the paper for spouting hateful shit in the name of God, I'm sorry I misunderstood, but don't make generalization based on what you read in the news, because sensationalism sells, and reality doesn't. What's on the TV and in the news paper isn't reality, it's a journalist's interpretation of reality. Don't blindly believe, think about it. I'm sure Tool would agree with me on that point. > Christianity.. > Teaches a system of "morals", which a human is to bide under. > > > Universal truth.. > "morals" are subjective.
