Interesting, since my mom's family always used "Xmas" when they were writing out cards and letters, and they were pretty devout. I generally don't abbreviate - notable exception is when I post the lyrics to John Lennon's "Happy Xmas", but that's 'cause it's on the lyric sheet that way - and I don't abbreviate Christmas, Christian, Christianity, etc. because I feel that abbreviating it shows a lack of respect. I think the logic for the "Xmas" is that the "X" is the Greek letter "chi" and is used to represent the word "Christ" in some cases; the fish with the Greek letters in it comes to mind. Kimmer
