You have to understand the mindset of the fundamentalist. Having been there, I have some insight on what they're thinking: challenges to one's faith are frowned upon, for one, and doing *anything* that somehow isn't "giving honor and glory to Christ" is viewed with sus- picion -- after all, there was quite the hubbub in the fundie Christian community when Amy Grant, a woman well-known for her Christian music, began to do "secular" (read as "not gushing 100% about how FABulous Gawd was) music; many accused her of abandoning her faith. All that for deigning to sing a song that *wasn't* "Oh, Gawd, Thou art ***SO*** big and wonderful....". Given that the Bible does state that one should not suffer a witch to live, among other things, sorcery and witchcraft and any other activity that might impinge on such (like horoscopes, playing Dungeons&Dragons, etc.) is considered to be putting one's soul in jeopardy.
