>I go to Wuorinen, Penderecki, Messiaen for Christian music.. I didn't realize that Wuorinen or Penderecki constituted "Christian music" (in fact, I thought Penderecki was Jewish), but you do bring up a point that crossed my mind when I first heard Messiaen, which was that he made was undoubtedly the most atypical "Christian music" that I have ever heard in my life. What I mean is, if I had heard the music without knowing the titles of the pieces, I wouldn't have never thought to connect the dissonant musical passages I was hearing with any kind of of liturgical thinking. I wonder if his music has ever been played at any kind of church service, and if so, what did the congregation think of it. >and there are many >who mistake that which is composed specifically to exalt God for "evil >music". These are probably people who still refer to the tritone, in all seriousness, as the "Diabolus En Musica". The Scuba DIVER Presently Known As Chris Remove Nospam to respond
