Just as I can have a nonchristian mechanic work on my car without being influenced by his worldview, I can listen to nonchristian music and not be influenced by their worldview, provided that I have a firm understanding of the foundations of my Christian worldview. I always cringe when I hear a supposed Christian justify filling their mind with any entertainment they want under the banner of "art", or that they are "strong enough" to thwart the worldview contained therewithin. Doesn't the Word say to think upon things which are pure, lovely, of good report?Or to "transform" your mind by the Word? I guess some wouldn't know. To me, it is the strong Chrisitian who with God's power has been able to abstain from any entertainment that carries a worldview that mocks, ridicules, and basically holds contempt for the God of the Bible. The one who will sit and justify any music or movies or other entertainment is the weak, compromising Christian who will never know what it means to have the power of witness to a dark world desperately looking for direction. They won't find it on this newsgroup for the most part.
