When you post a question youıre always hoping for some reactions. Well, I sure got them... And in case you though I chickened out: I didn't. I even decided to react in a new topic, so my reaction wouldn't be buried safely in the original one... After reading the more than 200 posts I frequently found myself thinking: What a crazy guy this green as grass is! A terrific example of a really fucked up christian, living with his eyes closed, just waiting for his death to free him from this terrible, impossible life on earth, with all itıs evil seductions...!ı It could hardly believe you were actually talking about me...! Well, you werenıt, because Iım not such a christian. I found out itıs very hard to make something clear in a few words. Or better said: I think I used too many words in my original post. Before you know it people read things you didnıt mean to say. (Or again better said: before you know it you give them the opportunity to read what they want or expect and what is of no importance to the original question...) Another problem concerning this topic (and all reactions clearly show this) is that over the years I found out there as as many version of christianity as there are christians... And there are just as many non-christian views on christianity as there are non-christians... Jim got it right when he said (in another topic he started on this): Why did he go to a Beatle site? Because he wants to embrace the Beatles again and feels conflict over it and was hoping to get some encouragement from people who have a) walked his path and b) figured out a way to let the Fabs back in.³ Yes, Dale Houstman, my dear shit eating homosexual friend (I REALLY think we could get along fine if we would ever meet!), my question really was sincere... BTW I think your posts (amongst others) are an example to a lot of christians: open, direct, honest, clear, and more of those words come to mind: words that christiansı have adopted but hardly ever bring to practice... The fact that the word hypocrisyı has been used more than once in this thread is not something to be proud of as a christian... (BTW once more: this last sentence reminds me to react to Dan McGuire who said: The question I had while reading this was: Can a Christian construct a grammatically correct sentence, or use a spell checker? There's no evidence of it here...ı Well, you know Dan, (and after reading the messages I think this may be hard news and difficult to believe for a lot of you) but not everybody is an American and not everyone uses American software with American spell checkers. So THIS christian indeed cannot construct a grammatically correct sentences. Iım very sorry. Not.) Anyway, to get back to Jimıs way of putting it: (Edit: I just wrote another long story about what happened when I became a christian: stupid: this post is even longer than my original post, and I just said I used to many words in that one, and I donıt want to start another discussion again! So Iıve erased it and Iıll end with this...) My first post should have been only one sentence long: I discovered there are born-again christians who are Beatle fan and I wonder how they combine the two.³ That should have been it. Sort of. I think. But I bet Iıll get reactions to THIS post which will urge me to put it in yet another way... Thanks for all the conrtibutions in the original topic. I wonıt react into detail to all the views on christianity or any other remarks and accusations (sorry Dan, Iım almost sure I typed this one wrong!): this is not really the place for that. And I think weıve had enough of that too. But if you still have any usefull reactions on my simplified question, Iım still interested! Iıll stop typing now. Itıs high time to relax and listen to some music now. I think a Beatle-song like All you need is loveı will do just fine... ;)
