I did a wedding gig last month and was agonizing over songs... even "My
Funny Valentine" couldn't be done ("Your looks are laughable //
Unphotographable...") and I actually DID get to argue against doing "And I
Will Always Love You" because it was a breakup song! I ended up singing a
load of saccharine blah, but since the bride was a fan of pop radio...
anything for the happy couple. I even sang an NSYNC song (which actually was
really wedding-appropriate, since most boyband ballads promise undying love
and everlasting commitment). I really did.
Oh, the pain......
