report - "looking for old song lyrics "

I remember a song I heard back in the mid 80's, and I'm looking for
the lyrics. The chorus went something like, "...don't let us hide our
sorrows in a smile."
I remember the first verse went something like this: "Some where deep
inside yourself, in the corners of your soul, lie the shadows of a
person, that no one's ever known, and there's a deep sad
silence...deep within your mind that only He can satisfy." If it makes
little snese, it's the best I can remember.
Anyone ever hear this song?
