So... sure, the song didn't say "Oooh, poor Iraq! Give peace a chance!" But
your timing is just too good for it to be a coincidence. Not to be skeptical
or anything... ;o)

If the song is not a protest against war and actually is a "Christian" song
with no agenda, then I find it (and its metaphors) to be theologically
incorrect. So I still don't buy it, because songs loaded with Christianese
and dead doves and bad theology also make me uncomfortable.
Good metaphors reach our inner being. Misused ones just make us cringe.
And... uncomfortable.
I apologize if it sounds like I'm bashing the song. Okay, I kinda was...
"Let your heart be warm for her child"???!?! Sorry. Just my opinion... (If
we can bash Apologetix, I should be allowed to be critical about nice 'peace
songs' too, no?)
And if the posting of this "peace song" at the start of the US-Iraq war
really IS a complete, total, absolute coincidence, then I apologize again
for my cynicism. :o)
