Can a Christian be a Beatle fan...?

First of all: I know a lot of people will find this question (and me) quit
stupid. Well, if you think so, stop reading right now. Please keep this
topic clean... This topic is really only meant for Christians...
I don't think I'll get a definitive answer to this question, but still I ask
you: can a Christian be a Beatle fan? And by Christian I don't mean someone
who goes to church every sunday, but someone who believes that Jesus is the
Son of God and the Saviour of us all and that there is no other way to the
Father that Jesus.
The thing is... when I became a Christian I threw away a lot of things I
thought were wrong ('evil'). But now (after a lot of years) I've learned a
lot of things aren't wrong in itself: it's a matter of how you look at it
(and listen to it). I certainly don't believe music can oly be listened to
if the lyrics are about Christ. You can listen to a lot of things with which
you don't agree, as long as you know where YOU are standing.
When I became a Christian I threw away all my Beatle stuff because the
Beatles had become some sort of God to me. I still LOVE the music they made
and I like to read about them. But I'm hesitating to actually buy stuff from
the Beatles. It's as if I'm letting things from the past into my life/home
again. Somehow it doens't feel good...
The difference is, that I KNOW Jesus is my Saviour. No Harrison song about
HIS believes can change that. Seeing them talk to the Maharishi or using LSD
won't change me at all. So I don't fear The Beatles. I just wonder if it's
alright to look and listen to people who talk about things and have done
things I can't approve off. On the other hand: they were sincere in what
they did (not everyone is!) and so I believe I can look at and listen to
them with respect, while still keeping my own believes. (I've read some
books which made me think it's not bad at all to be a Beatle fan. Some were
influenced by Francis Schaeffer who had an open mind for non-christian art
as long as it's all sincere. Or something like that...)
Ah well, I KNOW some of you will think: what is this poor guy talking
about?!? But I'd just like to know if there are any born-again christians
around here and I'd like to know how they look at The Beatles. And how they
listen to (for instance) George's song about another god...
