The story behind it is that a man was walking to church one Christmas morning and was attacked by a wild boar, he killed it by shoving his hymnal down the boars throat and took it to eat as part of the Christmas feast. Gross huh? I played it a few years back as part of a Christmas concert by my Early music consort. Also... interesting information... There is a village about 10 miles from me called Boars Head. I wonder sometimes when driving through if that's where the story originates. -- Carrie, Midnight and Twilight www.btinternet.com/~midnightlyons http://community.webshots.com/user/carriephlyons www.lyonsmusic.co.uk
