I still remember how thrilled I was at the huge classical selection when I first visited Tower Records in Boston around July 4th in 1996. I hear they've closed now. On the other hand, when I look at my own buying habits -- probably 80% of my CD purchases are online, 10% at used dealers and 10% in retail stores (mostly Borders, which tends to do a good job stocking the Naxoi) -- I not in a very good position to complain about the marketing decisions by brick and mortar companies to shrink or eliminate classical sections.
