I used to hate classical, couldn't listen to anything classical. At the
age of 17 I decided that I have to start liking classical music since it
is considered to be a more "serious", "higher" form of music. Thus, I
forced myself to sit and listen through Tchaikovsky and Beethoven (the
5th and 6th symphonies). I found the music boring and tedious but I knew
I had to be patient and repeat listening to it. It took me a while but
eventually I was used to the sound of it. Today I cannot live without
classical music.
