Musicmatch, Gracenote, and classical music

Hello, I'm new to the newsgroup, so if this question has been asked and
answered, forgive me; if someone can point me to a prior answer, I'd be
grateful.
I use Musicmatch to manage my MP3 collection; but much of my collection is
classical music, and the standard tags of "album, track, artist" just don't
capture all the necessary information for classical music -- things like
composer, orchestra, soloist(s), etc. end up getting compressed into the
available tags. Since the gracenote database has been populated over time
by many different folks, there is no consistency. Sometimes, for example,
the "artist" is "Mozart", and the performer isn't there; but for other
pieces the name "mozart" might be in the title of the album, and the
"artist" will be the performer. The result of this is that there is no easy
way to, for example, list all the Mozart in the library. Or all the
Pavarotti, or...
In the past, I've sent e-mails to both Musicmatch and Gracenote, asking
whether there is any "workaround", and whether there is any notion of
enhancing things in the future to fix this... I've never received any
response from either of them.
I know that us "classical types" are few, but there must be others who have
confronted this problem, and maybe even found a solution? Thanks in advance
for any tips.
