I haven't seen this mentioned on r.m.p. yet ... * Magna Carta mainstays Robert Berry and Trent Gardner are listed as performers on a limited-edition EP entitled "America Our Country ... America Our Home". The EP in question is the brainchild on San Francisco police officer/ composer (yes, you read that right) Ron Sfarzo. According to Sfarzo's promotional website (which is rather garishly decorated with American flags), the track is intended to commemorate the victims of the 9/11 disaster. He claims to have received for his efforts a "thank-you" letter from George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Gerald Ford & Rudolph Giuliani. The EP features three versions of the song in question. The first, subtitled "The Production", is listed as being arranged and performed by Gardner. The second, simply referred to as "The Song" is performed by Berry, Maryann Sfarzo (Ron's wife) and ex-Doobie Brothers member Danny Hull. The third is a solo piano arrangement, performed by Sfarzo himself. Sample lyric: "Through troubled times we gather near, to lend a helping hand. It maybe [sic] just a word a smile, knowing someone understands. This land that we have chosen, is rich but not with gold. With Love, Hope and Promise, of Freedom Untold. America Our Country, America Our Home We will stand together, we are not alone. Love and Peace to guide us, God is here beside us. America our Country, America our Home." * I suppose it's no worse than anything on _Leonardo - The Absolute Man_ ... In any event, the full gruesome details may be found at: www.americaourhome.net. Ordering details are obviously included, should anyone think that the resale value of thing will increase with time. Christopher
