>Also #1 - where can I obtain an original 1946 Hank Williams / Drifting >Cowboy(s) songbook in any usable condition or facsimile?? Closet thing you'll find is Don Cusic's Hank Williams Lyrics book-it has all the song lyrics listed in those songbooks (I believe Hank published 2) and every other known Hank lyric through when the book was published in the mid 90's. >Also #2 - is there any list of Hank Sr videos especially his debut on Grand >Ol Opry? Only "video" commercially available is a clip of Hank singing "Hey Good Lookin'" on the Kate Smith show in April 1952-you can find it on "In The Hank Williams Tradition" video released by the CMHOF and also in the Audrey Williams produced movie "Country Music on Broadway" which is on video I believe. A & E's Hank Biography probably also has the clip, and there are a few more clips aired on TNN/CMT's "Century of Country" series aired on TNN at the end of 1999 and re-aired on CMT a couple of times after that-color silent clips of Hank getting out of a car and him and ET backstage at the Opry joking and singing--and a murky b & w clip (silent) of Hank performing on the Louisiana Hayride. Circulating among collectors are the entire Kate Smith show "Hey Good Lookin'" came from, and another Kate Smith show from a few weeks later where Hank performs "Cold Cold Heart" and "I Can't Help It" (the latter with Anita Carter), and he joins in at the end with the cast on "Glory Bound Train." Hank also apparently appeared on Perry Como's 15*-minute long TV show in late 1951/early 1952 singing "Hey Good Lookin'", closest thing I've seen to footage of that is a still photo and footage from the following week's show where Perry Como performs "Hey Good Lookin'" in a cowboy hat "with apologies to Hank" www.hankwilliams.com used to have a clip up of some of these things.
