Wal-Mart pulling artists records from the shelf for lyric content or whatever would cause a rise in sales because people would buy the records just to see what all the fuss was about. This is entirely different as it is the country music stations and fans themselves that are telling the Dixie Chicks to get fucked here. I'm not into country music myself but from what I understand the Dixie Chicks had the number one country song in the nation when the comment was made and stations pulling their number one song off the air due to listener response is a pretty serious thing I would think. I don't think they will completely go under due to this, but I do think their pocketbooks will take a serious hit in the end.
