Actually not so from my perspective, yes there are a lot of flash in
the pan Pop stars, for example "LFO" had a major hit with "Abercrombie
and Fitch" a couple years back but are nowhere to be seen and that
crapfest "Sugar Ray" were one hit wonders, although Sugar Ray probably
doesn't register as "Pop". But all and all Popstars over the past 5
years seem to have more staying power than Rappers, from Spears,
Jessica Simpson, Aguilera, Mandy Moore and so on.
Just be glad that Garreth Gates and that other idiot (Hey Speedy,
what's his name) are not over here on this side of the Atlantic.

I dare you and ask anybody who is not an African-American who
"Grandmaster Flash" is and they'll tell you he was referenced in a Kid
Rock song and that's it.
I do think Kid Rock was a flash in the pan and heavy metal band Korn
most certainly looks like it was too. I hope Wissow takes the fool to
court and sues him for trademark infringiment, that idiot is making
huge money of copying Wissow's style.
> But you hate rap, period.
I'd appreciate if you didn't tell me what you think of me. For the
record I do not hate rap, I like quite a lot about it but I do not
care for 95% of the people involved in the genre and I have said
repeatdly that the music scene today is more about glamorous videos
than the music or lyric and 90% of these cats wouldn't cut it an era
with no TV to pass those repetitive bullshit videos of guys with
ferraris, sexist portrayal of women, excessive jewelry and so forth
the portrayal of African-Americans in rap videos as dumbed down
nouveau rich is nauseating since it's been done over and over and over
and over over the past 15 years, get some new material ASAP.
I follow nobody in particular outside Robbie Williams and OASIS but I
listen a few things here and there, downloaded the music videos of
Kazaa of Nelly's "Hot in Herre", Aguilera's "Dirrty", and "Beautiful"
and Pink's "Just Like a Pill". The first I did it because of the women
with lovely tits in the Nelly video, the 2nd because of Christina
primarly and the decent song, the 3rd I downloaded because Aguilera
looks good barefoot (She is mine, Pablito, stay away motherfucker) but
the song is really not that great, and I downloaded Pink's because it
is a great song IMO, so as you see by those 4 I choose based on looks
and only then the music, it's no my fault if we are fed more visually
then acustically by today's music industry.
BTW that Redman fella ruined Aguilera's video much like a bunch of
ugly NiG*ers ruined plenty of Mariah's video's circa 1997, did anybody
need a rap remix of "Fantasy"? I think not
For Brian Davis' sake yes that was the word Niggers upstairs, he cna
go get upset now, he has my permition.
I'm still dying to know who that "Katonda Loose" chick that starred in
Baywatch 6 years ago was, she was fine looking and not a bad singer
either,
As for what I like about Hip-Hop, I'll be honest and I'd like if
others here were as well, it's VERY rarely about the lyrics or music,
it's really more about the style, I dig some of the clothing (not that
wearing my "Patriots Jersey" and going butt naked is unstylish, mind
you), some of the acessories and so forth but really beyond the
Jewelry, cars, clothes I see nothing is captivating, the Hip-Hop world
IMO is more about a lifestyle, a clothing line, acessories rather than
music, and some of these fashion statements are silly, it doesn0't
matter who does it, wearing tank tops over T-Shirts will never look
cool, never, wearing band-aids on your damn face make you look like a
retarted moron and that's what Nelly look like, he looks like he spars
a few rounds with a pussy cat and got all scratched up, silly.
Does anybody remember when the media said Lauren Hill was a lyrical
genius, an unprecedented musical genius? They said th esame thign
about Arrested Developemnt and are saying now for Eminem, they were
nuts then, they are nuts now.
And furthermore, Blacks are topuchy as see anythign and everythign as
racist, well let me turn that aroudn, if my skin was a thin as yours I
could just as easily find most black movies and african-American music
racislly ofensive, go ahead, walk a mile in my shoes, and tell me that
watchign white villains in every single Spike Lee movie wouldn't
bother you or Alicia Keyes videos with all white prison guards
guarding all black prisoners is not ofencise not to mention inacurate.
Boxy, tell us your real first name, we promise we won't laugh if your
name is Todd.
Bush is right, Affirmative Action is so 1966ish. That bullshit
wouldn't fly in any other country, Political Correctness has become a
shackle on the America people.
Bomb North Korea today, vote for Bill Frist tomorrow
