About 20 years ago I saw on public television in North Carolina a weekly program showing at country music television program from the early to mid-1950s. The color saturation was excellent and the sound was wonderful. Performers such as Ernest Tubb, Webb Pierce, Chet Atkins, the Carter family, Little Jimmy Dickens and others of such quality performed in a barnlike setting. Sadly, it was the pre-VHS era and I was unable to record them of course. Even more sadly, I can remember a middle of the night infomercial (by time-life?) where these programs were being offered on a series of tapes but I was too slow and too stupid to send for them. This was over 10 years ago and I have not seen them advertised again. Now, I would love to have them but cannot find any mention of them anywhere on the Web. Clips from them showed up on a recent BBC country music history, Lost Highway. Does anyone know where I can get ahold of these programs on tape or, better, DVD? Thank you
