NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Reuters) - Country music's Clay Walker, diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1996, announced on Tuesday that he was forming a foundation to fund research on the disease. "I feel blessed to continue to be so healthy. Sometimes I would feel guilty because I know not everyone who is diagnosed with MS is that lucky," Walker said in a statement issued in Nashville where he is working on a new album for RCA. "I want to help those with MS who have not been so fortunate by providing them both a resource for information about MS, and the hope that someone else is helping to raise money to find treatments and a cure for this disease," he added. He said the organization would be called The Band Against MSSM Foundation, with a Web site that can be found at http://www.band-against-ms.org. Walker, 33, said he hopes to see the debilitating disease cured in his lifetime and plans to raise money through the sale of merchandise during his 2003 concert tour. The Texas-born singer has sold more than 8 million albums, including four platinum and two gold, and for five years one of his songs made Billboard's year-end Top 10 country list.
