Sexy vocalist; she nails the notes most of the time. At times she reminds me a bit of Bonny Rait. I liked the chorus, but I hated the bridge. Bridges so often seem to be tossed in because "there's supposed to be a bridge" I guess, and this one sounds like the bridge of a million other songs. I almost didn't listen because of the title. I thought it might be a sappy pop song. But then I noticed that you called it Blues/Country, so I gave it a listen and I wasn't disappointed. I don't know, but I wonder if the title might discourage other rockin' blues/country fans like me. Of course, because of the chorus it seems the natural title. Can't think of any other part of the song that jumps out as a potential title. This brings to mind the whole thing, mentioned by some, that some of us, such as me, are not "qualified" to offer critique or comment. The bogus thing about that is that by virtue of trying to write songs oneself one has the vocabulary to express one's reaction, and being an avid listener to all kinds of music, one is qualified to express one's reaction to a song. That is what writers want to hear: how music fans react to the song. The information that someone like me, who is a fairly frequent listener to the genre of this tune, almost didn't listen because of the title, should be useful food for thought. I notice from your website that you are located in Abbotsford. Do you play out much? Ever make it to the Island? I bet that in the atmosphere of an alcohol-sodden club with pumped-up listeners/dancers Amanda and the band could really rock the house down. I'd be there for sure! Oh, I just checked the site again and saw that it's a "one guy on everything" band, kind of like me. Well, get some folks together and form a band, eh?
