You could see that, while the paid performing "audience" around the stage were all excited, the actual fans in the stands were barely paying attention to the performance. And I was amazed that they'd have Shania Twain do a so-called live performance, where she's merely lip-synching the song. I had way, way more respect for No Doubt and Sting, and enjoyed their performances a lot more. On the other hand - I'd really rather they just stop having these high-priced entertainment extravaganzas during half-time at the Super Bowls. When I attended SB XXX here in Arizona, I didn't bother watching Diana Ross and whoever else was out there - I took advantage of half-time to hit the head, and grab a beer. I was also ticked off about the opening performance - why was Celine Dion, a Canadian citizen, singing America the Beautiful, "My home sweet home..." ?? What, they couldn't find a decent U.S. citizen-performer who could do it? I've got nothing against the Canadiens, in fact I like Canada just fine... but I don't understand why they'd set up a patriotic song like that without even having a patriot singing it. Just something to gripe about, since I"m still disappointed in the season being over two weeks ago, I guess. Mike in AZ
