No matter how large the dance floor, I have never found there was enough room during the hours you mention to dance comfortably (unless dancers were in line for a buffet or one comes to the ballroom when it opens). Since I enjoy late-night dancing and the music that goes along with it, I have adjusted to the fact if I want to dance in a space larger than a telephone booth, and not be jabbed and stepped on, this is the way to go. I agree with you that it would be nice to be able to dance during the "busiest" hours, but I have not yet been to an event where the ballroom was "adequate" as to be not too crowded to dance during those hours. The bigger the ballroom gets, the more the people to fill it. Miki
