soft synth advice for powerful synthlines in dance music?

I dig some of the acid sounds I can get out of Rebirth/TS404, like some of
the goatrance I like (Astral Projection... etc), however, I'm looking to add
some powerful synthlines to my music, but I dont know what soft synths are
good for this.
As for powerful synthlines, I've noticed they fade in and out of popularity
year in and year out, and I've heard hundreds of songs from the 80's to
present.
Stuff like...
Radiorama - Fire/Vampires (80's) cant stand the vocals, but I like the
synthlines
Van Halen - Jump (rock band, but who cares, I like the synthline)
DJ Sammy - Heaven (modern dance music, another power synthline) There's
actually lots of this type of music floating around lately, dunno who's
smoking what, but I like it. The vocals are much better than the 80's stuff.
Then there's old tunes by Cappella, 2 Unlimited etc...
Again I'm just wondering what soft synths could be capable of dishing out
some monster synthlines. I heard DJ Sammy produced his remake of Heaven with
Reason, and I'm still wondering if that's true. Maybe someone could help me
out on this.
