CONTRY LINE DANCE SONG?

I am looking for a title or name of a song
I use to hear in some of the Texas C&W bars,
It wasn't really a line dance like we have today, but more
along the lines of Cotten eyed joe or the Texas Schottische.
I can swear I remember dancing to it..it
usually played before or after cotten eyed joe.
It was a faster pace though..
This is all I can remember of the song..
..."hickory Joe"... or something possibly about a swamp or
alligator...
I am sorry I can't remember anything more of the song...
If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
