(posting for Annie Hirsch) To the Swing Dance Community; On behalf of the WSDC, thank you for your support at the Phoenix Convention 2003! First thank you to the Greater Phoenix Swing Dance Club for your fundraising efforts at your convention. Without competition entry fees, the raffle split / request for donations proved to be a successful alternative to the $1 per competitor donation. You did a good job raising $801.00 for the WSDC. Thank you, GPSDC. And secondly to all of the anonymous dancers who contributed to the request for donations, thank you! I had money thrown at me from every direction. I was saddened that I had no way of knowing and reaching each and every one of you to thank you personally. It was such a wonderful showing of support to the World Swing Dance Council! Your individual contribution to the WSDC created a grand total of $685.00. WOW! This contribution is sincerely appreciated by me and the Board of Directors. It does take dollars to continue our work. Since we do not know WHO you are and we wanted to thank each of you donors individually, we're utilizing RAD to reach the mass swing dance community! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. The WSDC Competitors Points Registry and the Swing Dance Hall of Fame are the most visible and widely known functions of the WSDC, but in addition to that, the Council is involved in all areas of Clubs, events, dancing, competitions, judging (quite often seen as operating chiefly "behind the scenes"). We are here to promote swing dancing and further communication within the dancing community. Thank you again to the many GPSDC Event donors and to those that have been supportive as members. Please visit our website (www.swingdancecouncil.com). This office is here to serve all within the dance community. We also encourage your comments and suggestions. "Happy Dancing" to each of you! Annie and the WSDC Board of Directors (Skippy Blair, Dani Canziani, Vic Damon, Jim Tigges)
