>From: email-address-deleted (jenn) >but that shouldn't have anything to do with it. but i think it has a lot to do with it. it's not really fair to say that it doesn't. i mean, in our case, we grew up with this band and there's an attachment there that goes beyond just music. we hardly get any info regarding their personal lives or anything that they're doing. most of our posts are just funny little speculations about what this lyric and that song COULD be representitive of but no one knows for sure. also - hanson's music has always stuck out like sore thumbs. imo, and i'm sure a lot of you will agree, no one quite sounds like them so in our heads we're like "oh man, three years? this HAS to be good!" because we're all basically left in suspense during most of their recording processes. and because it is hanson, there are high expectations and the longer it takes, the better we think it will be. it's not the WHOLE reason the songs "suck" to some people, but i really think it has a lot to do with it. as for the songs - i think we should keep in mind that these three years probably consisted of more label battles rather than actual work on the album and that we shouldn't just assume that hanson is becoming bland or "trying too hard". i think hanson wanted to go in one direction, but were being pulled in another. that can have a huge affect on your material, whether you want it to or not. hanson has obviously decided not to compromise so these songs that were released are probably appetizers (so to speak) to keep fans satisfied while they focus on the tracks on the album which is going to take much longer because of the need for a new label. let's just have some faith. we don't know what's up their sleeve. i mean, almost all of the tracks that have been named as tracks on the album have been pretty much out of the picture. we don't know what they've got planned for them. just keep your spirits up! :-D - skim radio's jammed with gospel stations lost souls calling long distance salvation hey mister deejay gotta hear my last prayer it's a hey ho rock and roll, deliver me from nowhere i'm living on the edge of the world
