Looking at it from a record company's point of view, however, : it makes sense to pick one from 1981 or 1980, and New Orleans would have to be the : front-runner. Your reasoning is no doubt correct, although I would add that Toronto 1980 might be a possibility too for release. I wouldn't choose either the Toronto show or the New Orleans as a good representation of all that he was able to accomplish in his live shows 1979-81, but it would still be nice to see either one released. I guess I would prefer the Toronto '80 show, if only because it would be interesting to see if people could appreciate the power of the gospel shows, now that they have taken their place as one chapter in his overall career. On the other hand New Orleans has "Thief on the Cross", which is well deserving of an official release (and hopefully with a lyric sheet). Of course I could see it being left off of the release, just to drive us all crazy. ========================================================================== Seth Kulick "The hypnotic splattered mist was slowly lifting" University of Pennsylvania - Bob Dylan email-address-deleted http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~skulick/home.html
