Talk about two > opposite stories! It's hard to clarify 25 year old events even if you were at them. I checked further into what I wrote. I have no doubts about what I recall JD saying and don't recall Lloyd Orrell commenting on the situation that night. However, some people in the audience were definitely upset when JD said the Stamps worked with Elvis for good money just as some people in gospel music were in it solely for the money. Where I might be wrong is when I wrote that JD worked for Orrell at future concerts. I thought the night in question in Allen Park occurred in 1975 or early 1976. However, the only record I could find of an Elvis concert in Toledo was in April 1977. That is after JD's appearance for Orrell in Indianapolis in 1976. So I don't know if the Stamps worked an Orrell again after the Allen Park show. I do know that both JD and Lloyd Orrell are in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
