He sang with the Tennesseans from 1959-62 and then with the Harvesters from 1962 to 1964. He retired from gospel music but returned with the Oak Ridge Boys in 1969 until retiring again from gospel in 1972. He was replaced in the Oaks by current bass Richard Sterban. He died earlier this year at the age of 62 I believe.
