I'm with you on this, Lemonblue! Barry was the man... Holland/Dozier/Holland get a lot of play for their orchestrations at Motown, but (I think) Barry was the first to write and produce soul music for a *full* orchestra. Barry's song, "Love's Theme," is what got the ball rolling. "Love Theme" was never one of my favorites by Barry, but I can't dismiss the importace of this track and the album it appeared on, "Rhapsody in White". Barry's orchestrations helped define the so-called "Smooth" or "Quite Strom" soul music, while at the same time keeping the "Funk" in the beat and inspiring muscians like Fela Kuti and Angela Kidjo. Barry was special. Meredith
