Don't turn on Jackson, that's for damn sure.
Besides all of the numerous R&B musicians out there (James Brown,
Jackie Wilson, some great Mowtown acts, etc; newer R&B is a joke), you
need to go out and buy a copy of "His Band And The Street Choir" by
Van Morrison.
Play that back to back with any Michael Jackson record after Off The
Wall... Jackson is too phoney to portray true soul anymore. He gave up
his roots after Motown.
And yes, this is open to debate.
