Soul music tonight at the Village, East Atlanta

I'll be spinning soul 45s at The Village in East Atlanta tonight, with
DJ Terry H. from about 8pm til closing. Please note the early start
time. This is a gig I had been working on for a while, but it
literally just got confirmed at 1am this morning! Apologies for such
short notice. Please, tell a friend or three! I'm also booked again
at The Village in May. That will be either May 1 or May 8. I'll find
that out tonight. One kinda special thing I'll be doing tonight is
scattering my set with my favorite Edwin Starr songs. As you may
already know, Edwin Starr passed away of heart failure yesterday
afternoon at the age of 61. I've written a short tribute to him now
published at www.uppers.org.
Also, mark Monday, April 28 on your calendars! The Sugarman 3 & Co.
will be returning to Atlanta for their second gig here ever. This
time, they'll be bringing singer Lee Fields with them. It's going to
be an incredible night for deep funk and boogaloo fans. I'll be DJing
with them at The Echo Lounge. Doors open at 9pm, which is when the
records start spinning too, so get there early and be prepared to
dance!
