That song sounds like a funk song if you ask me, and perhaps even funkier than most of Hall and Oates' material :) Another song just popped in my head that I would consider "blue eyed soul/funk". It's the Four Seasons "Who Loves You". Another is "Play That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry. Who says white people can't do soul/funk music? ;-) > > > Well, the local "Mega-Oldies" (radio format-speak for r&b/soul/disco > oldies) station DOES play it... > But then they play rather fast and loose with the format, playing such > other 'soulful' oldies as the two '70s Pablo Cruise hits, and even, > believe it or not, "The Way That I Want to Touch You" by Captain and > Tennille. > guess there's a little soul in just about everyone (except Celine > Dion, of course)... > ;-) Well, I remember hearing "Love Will Keep Us Together" back in '75 when I didn't know who Captain and Tennille were. I thought the lead singer (Tennille) was a black woman ;-) I think Tennille has a very soulful voice. Also, both of Pablo Cruise's hits, "Whatcha Gonna Do", and "Love Will Find A Way" were played a lot in R&B stations in the 70s. -Naz
