I think he was only talking about "Love Is Alive". That song sounds
like a funk song if you ask me, and perhaps even funkier than most of
Hall and Oates' material :)
Another song just popped in my head that I would consider "blue eyed
soul/funk". It's the Four Seasons "Who Loves You". Another is "Play
That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry.
Who says white people can't do soul/funk music? ;-)

Well, I remember hearing "Love Will Keep Us Together" back in '75 when I
didn't know who Captain and Tennille were. I thought the lead singer
(Tennille) was a black woman ;-)
I think Tennille has a very soulful voice.
Also, both of Pablo Cruise's hits, "Whatcha Gonna Do", and "Love Will
Find A Way" were played a lot in R&B stations in the 70s.
