Looking to buy a Classical guitar

Hi there, I'm a jazz guitar student in college and as part of the degree
requirements I have to pass 2 levels of proficiency in classical guitar.
I've been playing for a while so I'm not totally inept at gauging guitar
quality, but since I've never played a classical guitar I was wondering if
anyone here has some special pointers to look for or brands/models to check
out. I'm not looking to break the bank on this but I do understand that a
little extra cash means quite a bit of quality difference from the bottom of
the line stuff. I won't really need a guitar that I'll perform on much,
just something for taking lessons and practicing, but who knows. Thanks in
