A good many of the people on alt.guitar, rec.music.makers.guitar, rec.music.makers.guitar.acoustic and several other guitar related newsgroups also post here. It is a pretty cool newsgroup, even for those of us who have been playing for many years. I find there's always something new to learn. I'm also impressed at how willing the experienced players are at giving advice to beginners. I think some people are just born to be teachers. I'm also a fiddler, so I spend a lot of time in rec.music.makers.bowed-strings. Great group of people over there, too. And some of the kindest people in the entire world, some of my very favorite people on the Internet, post at alt.music.lightfoot. There are some great guitarists in that group. They even have a Paltalk guitar chat on Tuesday evenings, where they use voice chat to play guitar to one another. It's pretty fun. Mostly acoustic style music, although I do remember one time a visitor came in and did an electrified Hendrix style version of The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald, not something I'm dying to hear again! If any of you would like to come visit guitar chat, e-mail me privately and I'll give you directions how to get there. Cathy http://www.cathycowette.com
