Glen Campbell Lead Guitar Player and Country Music Singer Glen Campbell started making his living playing lead Guitar in a Country Western Band, in Albuquerque New Mexico when he was 14 years old. He started playing Guitar when he was 4 years old. I downloaded some Glen Campbell songs recorded live, from the Vitaminic Music Club I just joined. It's better than Napster and it's Legal. I like that. I Downloaded a Recording of Glen Campbell doing "Rolling In My Sweet Baby's Arms." He was singing the song and I'm reasonably sure that it was Glen Campbell playing the hot lead Guitar on the song. Boy it was hot Guitar, took some real technique to play music the way it was being played. He was using a slight overdrive boost to give him the full sound and it was good music. All the musicians on the Glen Campbell Greatest Hits Live album are excellent to say the least. I suppose Glen Campbell knows so many good musicians he doesn't have any trouble getting the best players for his road band. I'm picking up about 5 of the Glen Campbell songs for I like his pickin an singing. He is still a Country Boy. You never fully get the Country out of anyone who was raised in the Rural area of Arkansas. He is a real Country Music Picker, though he is a pretty sophisticated Country Music Musician having played backup Guitar on Studio session work on records by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Merle Haggard, Elvis Presley, Ray Charles and the Mamas and the Papas. He even toured with the Beach Boys in 1965. Song writer and singer John Hartford wrote a song that became one of the most popular recordings of the 60s with the Glen Campbell single "Gentle On My Mind." Song writer Jimmy Webb wrote Songs that made Glen Campbell extremely successful. Glen Campbell never played much Lead Guitar on his TV show, he was too busy being a very popular Singer. Needless to say Glen Campbell was one of the most popular recording artists and TV Personalities in the 60s. As a child, Glen Campbell heard and played much Gospel Music. The Country Churches in Arkansas where Glen Campbell was born and raised have great Gospel Singing. In later years Glen Campbell's Career turned to Gospel Music. Have you ever heard Glen Campbell play Lead Guitar, he is good. I like his Guitar Playing better than his singing, though I do like Glen Campbell's singing Also. In case anyone forgot, there was a Glen Campbell Ovation Guitar sold at one time. It was the top of the Line For Ovation. Nice Guitar. I'd say anyone who has a Glen Campbell Ovation from the 60s or 70s has a pretty valuable Guitar for I don't see any Glen Campbell Ovation Guitars in the Music Stores any more. Do you have a Glen Campbell Ovation Guitar? If you do, how do you like it? 21 Glen Campbell songs are on the Vitaminic Music Club for free download to members of the Club.
