Wary of longtime shelf guitars?

When you all go into music stores, are you wary of guitars that have
been hanging on the wall for over a year? I've found a lovely Maton A80
in one music store, and it's also the only one I can find anywhere near
me. It sounds great, but my only issue with it is that it's been there
for over a year now.
I'm not sure how common this is and I'm probably making a bigger deal
over it than I should. I just want to be sure there's nothing wrong with
a guitar when I spend THAT much money on one.
Before purchasing I'm going to be sure I give it a 100% run down first,
as I don't want to have any nasty surprises. Do you all have any
recommendations for what I should look for on a guitar thats been
hanging for over a year?
