We recently received an extensive gift of classical guitar music from the estate of a Seattle classical guitarist. Included in the larger gift was 1 box of music published in Japan: predominantly guitar music, some lute music, and a little koto music. Most of the pieces show the composer and title printed in Roman alphabet, but almost all the accompanying text is in Japanese characters. I haven't inventoried it yet, but the contents seem to be mostly standard western classical repertoire with some music by modern Japanese composers. There are also some books in Japanese on the history of the guitar, performance theory and a few that I cannot make out at all except for the musical excerpts. Everything is in reasonably clean shape and would probably be appreciated by the right person. I've not had any luck finding a home for it locally. Anyone who is interested is welcome to contact me off the list. I can prepare an inventory if there is sufficient interest. Items are free except for the cost of shipping. ________________________________________________________ Hollis P.
