Why aren't there more pirate recordings of non-opera performances?

There are many companies that sell pirate recordings of live opera--recordings made from the audience, the wings or even the prompter's box. It seems to be a decent niche market that is able to support individuals and some small enterprises. Why don't those who attend classical instrumental music do the same? Among the reasons that occur to me (none of which, I imagine, are correct) --the perceived (or actual) market for such recordings is too small --they are more honest than opera lovers, and don't want to be pirates --they are less honest than opera lovers, and would record their favorites if they weren't afraid of being embarrassed --they are more greedy than opera loves. They make tapes but keep them to themselves. --they are less greedy than opera lovers. They wouldn't think of making money on pirated recordings. What is the real story--if there is one, that is.
